i called penguin and her grandfather told me she was asleep (or at least locked in her room with her light off). this confused me because penguin always sleeps with her light on. anyways, i said she could call me back.

so my parents and i were watching seabiscuit (the name sounds so much like soggy bread to me...) and the phone rang but mom wouldnt let me get it because she didnt think it was her sister but no one left a message. i was convinced it was penguin because she never leaves a message to save her life.

so i called penguin again, but apparently it wasnt ehr because her grandfather (sweet dude) laughed and said she was still in her room with the door locked and the light out. (''do you want me to go holler at her?" holler at her.... theres an idea.... GET OUT OF THAT BED, YOUR FRIEND CALLED!!! ''um, no thanks. she can call me later.'' ''ok.'')

hello all of my devoted fans! (ahem, im sure theres thousands of you out there, ahem) today mother prepares to go up to the mountain cabin this weekend. this summer is so tiring! i can squeeze any summer between all the stuff we do.

well, i wear a 3-size pair of jeans now *sob!* and of course they're 3 short. (do you realize how degrading that is? 3 short. thanks.) it used to be a 1!! and i could fit into a 0 if i really wanted to.... *grumble* oh well. shirt size is still small (of course.)

and the really sucky part of all this is that i havent grown a centimeter. all summer. must i be doomed forever to short stockiness??? life is so cruel.

well, i still have my heels.... but then again ive probably grown out of those too with my monster feet.

im feeling considerably happier today. mom and i went clothes shopping for bts season and i now have 3 new pairs of jeans (yes!) and 3 new shirts. i have decided to change my outfit plan for orientation, which is, btw, on sept. 1, 3-7 pm. cant wait! anyway, now im going to wear my new burgundy (sp?) v-neck that hugs my shoulders, jeans, and my heart hoops. i think ill wear my hair down, but i havent decided yet....

i didnt buy any earrings or makeup cuz im waiting to go with penguin so we can exchange opinions. (yay! cant wait. maybe next week... *pleezpleezgodpleez*) i saw a nice shade of lipstick t'other day called mango sorbet (yay! mango obsession!) i need to find mango perfume... (does it exist?) well, mango body spray exists and maybe ill buy that.

fair coming soon, getting ready to show my cowsies! ill have to sit by moocows all week, and orientation is that week! (eep!) so illl be EXHAUSTED. not good while trying to think straight and decide how to say hello to pigeon (eek!) that scares me.... ah well. shall be brave (i think...) bah! so many parens!!! cannot stand.

just called fox, she cant wait to change earrings (she just got them pierced. she used to have them and then they got infected...) i wonder if penguin has hers done yet or not. i loev earrings. theyre so cool!!!

i have blond highlights in my hair, believe it or not, from the sun. it looks like i had it frosted or something. its nice, though.. not extremely noticeable except in my bangs. the first streak is in the front of my bangs. i actually like the look but not enough to get it done in winter. it wont look the same, much more garish. although i do like it on other people.... maybe i should be brave. im not good at being brave (take pigeon, for example.)

#1 freakiest thing that happened to me today: there is a new dreamworks called valiant about (what else?) messenger pigeons. must he haunt me even when im watching stupid sitcoms?

#2 freakiest thing that happened to me today: right after the pigeon commercial i promptly saw a penguin movie. march of the penguins (so dramatic.). i think penguin and i should see it. fox thinks it looks like a documentary, and therefore boring. documentaries arent so bad when they feature cute animals in my opinion.

#3 freakiest thing that happened to me today: in wal-mart there was a windex ad with a pigeon on it (gaaaaahhhhhh!!) nowhere is safe.

speaking of wal-mart. i have an announcement to give the world: WAL-MART SUCKS INTO OBLIVION. i am so deadly serious. we found outdoor thermometers next to the paint. (in hardware, not lawn and garden.) we didnt find foamboard at all. fish are next to medicines, (in cosmetics, not lawn and garden.)

oh, and scrapple is extremely disgusting. i dared look at the ingredients *twitch* and i saw pork heart and liver listed, as welll as pig snouts.

a&n, you know, the outdoor-outfitter store? they have the most stupid blond ditzes working in there. she couldnt find out how to get the receipt-spitter-outer thing to spit out the receipt, so she had to handwrite it. after 3 tries , she finally finishes, succeeds in marking on the shirt i bought in pen so i had to get another in a different shade as well as getting the total wrong. we're out and im grumbling about stupid ditzes. so frustrating. it makes me want to get behind the counter, punch her, and do the math myself. *breathes deeply*

its pretty hot today... im eating one of those wonderful cheap popsicles-in-a-plastic-tube thingys. the flavor is so concentrated it makes me wince, but they're cold! :)

the cat mauled my hand open today when i tripped over the floor fan and now i have lots of bandages wrapped around it. hes mad at me cuz ive been away from home so much, poor cat. (are you wondering why im calling him 'poor cat'? its okay, i payed him back by dropping him on his head. yes, even cats fall on their head when they're only a foot from the ground.)

my uncle ken is over today on the way to look at possible locations for a restaurant that he hopes to start. yay! company to break the monotony. i feel organized today (this doesnt include the room, of course, just listing things on my blog)...


number one best thing that happened today: the ice cream at costco. mmmm. that vys with uncle ken, of course. relatives always welcome, love em all.

number one worst thing that happened today: *sob* my cousins aimee and adela invited me to come to their house next weekend to shop *another sob* but i am completely booked with parent-friends visits and mountain excursions (why my parents do this i cannot say. there is no summer that can squeeze between all the places were going. what gives?) hopefully i can go when school starts... shopping can be done anytime, even bts shopping. thank you adela and aimee! youre soso sweet!

number one freaky thing that happened today: dad was showing me pix of my graduation (which i never saw until now) on his computer. one was on penguin in line in prettypink. right next to her was pigeon!!! why does he spring up in unexpected places? the world is so cruel.

ohohohoh!!! i forgot! uncle ken (actually they're from aunt judy) brought me a pair of gorgeous earrings! they are silver hoops in the shape of dangling hearts. gorgeousgorgeous. thank you!!

um... oh yes. i bought mom's bday present today. while i was looking in the jewelry section of wally world i spotted a keychain that funnily enough is the exact same style of a keychain penguin has in the shape of a black cat (guess whos HER best friend?). except... *drumroll* this one's a monkey. yes, penguin, i give you permission to scream. it is a supercute brown monkey with a string tail.

of course i bought it for her. i mean, who can resist? perfect. and inexpensive. there was no excuse at all. hmmm... now that im down a few dollars on bts money, can i persuade penguin to get me a new shade of lipstick...? no, just kidding. :) whos your gal penguin?

i also got mom some neat stuff but will not list just yet as moms day is yet to come. oh, i still have to make a card...

perhaps i will wear the heart earrings to orientation. haha, uncle ken was across the room when i was showing mom and he said in the dry humor he has perfected : "well, you can certainly see them from here." yea-yuh!

stellafane is a star party in vermont. what is a star party, you ask? NOT a place where you meet celebreties, so dont scream. thank you.

a star party is a gathering (whoooo) where a bunch of geeks bring telescopes they've made and look at celestial objects. there is nothing wrong with geeks! geeks are cool. im probably one myself. except i dont wear shorts with socks pulled up to my knees. that declares devout geekiness. i wrote out the lyrics to a nice song last post. nice,nice. penguin knows why i posted it.

i have so far learned all there is to learn (well, almost) about dad's telescope. its a schiefspeigler with 4 1/4 inch mirror. the tool becomes the secondary. its focal length is f27. the light bounces from the primary mirror to the secondary and then to the eyepiece. it is now mounted on a german equatorial mount.

if you didnt understand any of that, its very ok. but im not gonna explain all of it (partly because i dont fully understand some and dont wish to give faulty information).

aaanyway. dad is sleeping u.u zzzzz

it is so cold in this holiday inn.. i want to go swimming but i didnt bring my bathing suit. @%#%@$^&*#$&*#&!!!!! ah well.

...and im all the way in "freaking vermont," using her words. ahh, but she wrote the post. yes! it was extremely interesting. i beleive i will repay her by writing one about her and monkey.

THE SAGA OF PENGUIN AND MONKEY

unfortunately, this account won't be as objective as peguin's post because 1) i think its hilarioius 2) nothing bad has happened yet to take away the feeling of hilarity 3) .... i am a very subjective person.

lets carry on, shall we?

so around the middle of the year a new kid came to our school (i think he was the third or fourth to come in the middle) and i noted with slight interest that he looked asian. not all asian, mind - half-and-half like me. he could be half vietnamese or something, but i didnt give much thought to it. i also noted his wishhair with distaste and learned his name. he had one of those cant-see-for-my-hair cuts and i half expected to see him run into his own locker soon.

truthfully enough, i dont think penguin thought much about him either (unless she hasnt told me, of course).

penguin is an introvert. she even gives people a feeling of disdainfulness. really shes just shy (hey - im the same way). fox still gets the feeling that she emits deathrays every once in a while. you'll have to understand - if she has a crush on someone, she's carrying it to the grave. she likes to admire from afar. (im tame way)

well, i had met fox only recently (this was my first year at public school, been homeschooled til 8th grade) but we still weren't best friends yet. umm, how did we meet...? oh yes. we were taking the writing sol because the essays involved take longer than everything else to grade becuase they have to be hand-read. we were in mr pocepowich's classroom (she already had him for 3rd period, i was just moved because my 3rd period has lotsa people) we were waiting for time to be up (we were all finished) so we could eat lunch, and mr. p gave everyone paper. so lisa asks me for a writing utinsel (youre not supposed to bring anything in, they give you a pencil) and i forgot id had one in my purse, so i gave it to her. lo and behold, she draws something beautiful in anime, so i complimented her on it. we learned each other's names and that was pretty much it.

be patient. this actually DOES apply to penguin and monkey.

i still didnt hang with her yet (i talked to fox about it and she said i looked too popular *snort-laugh*) until i read her comic book. very nice. the storyline was random, but that is the anime style. the drawing was great, grammar needed some work, but not too bad. i liked it, so i did my end of the bargain - i gave her my book to read. she liked it too. so she asked if i wanted to sit with her and the new kid (see what's happening, folks?) i said sure, but penguin would have to come too.

penguin heemed and hawed and didnt like that i made seating arrangements without her, but she sat with them anyway. other people were supposed to be there, but it ended up as the four of us: me, penguin, fox, and monkey.

now is when we learned more about monkey. fox liked him. he was half thai (ah, my mental self said) and needed a haircut (but i had determined this already). he was very quiet the first week (oh, how misleading) but soon his howler-monkey self kicked in and he started talking more. he was funny - slapstick funny and soon everyone was laughing at his jokes. fox started to teach me how to draw anime.

fox eventually asked monkey out (she's that type). he said no. we had to endure and comfort a very embarrrased and depressed fox. but she pulled through and now claims to be very much over monkey. all the popular girls liked him alot.

i think this is about when we came up with our animal names. we still use them and hope to buy our animal in charms this year.

all of a sudden ( i had noticed this at the time, but it hadnt really occured to me yet. now i look back, it makes oso much sense) penguin became inexplicably silent around monkey. monkey loves to tease and pay attention to her, and she just smiled a little shyly and didnt say a thing. soon last day came.

everything was nice, we watched videos and talked all throughout. classrooms were opened up and we were allowed to sit with our friends. i succeeded in falling over while giving fox a hug and saluki (another friend) had lots of chocolate bars that he gave out. monkey laughed. and penguin paled (by this time, she had told me).

we are still best friends and still will be (i hope) during highschool. penguin will admire from not-so-far-away, but still anonymously.

that is the story! we wait for the final installment still.

dont you love hotels with free internet access? i am, however, limited to 15 mins (well, there's nobody in line.... and it IS 9:29....) but then you're also supposed to be 21. (hey, i can masquerade as 21... i hope.) well, no one's casting me annoyed glares or telling me to get off, so i shall continue! i thought i would have no comp access... and then i thought i would have limited with dads laptop... and now i have 15 full minutes (and 15 mins can easily stretch - "oh, i lost track of time! haha!") to update the hairball.

i finished the pix of us today. i have monkey and me and fox and penguin. penguin was extremely tricky. i discussed it with fox the other day. first she suggested i give her the little penguiny bobtail. but id have to turn her fully around for it to be seen. then fox suggested her on the shore being attacked by a sea lion. (i chose not to point out that sea lions do not eat penguins. when fox gets on a roll, move out of the way or get run over.) i politely declined this imaginative (and gory) idea and she brightly suggested to portray her eating crill. (do penguins eat crill? i dont even know...) this reminded me of fear factor... so i came up with a mediocre solution and gave her a billowy purple dress that blends into the ocean. her hair is brown, like in real life, but she has two side-framing bits that are black and white. a penguin swims underneath her.

i know what you're saying.

my response: I WAS DESPERATE. why dont you try drawing a realistic anime penguin-teenager. not as easy as it sounds... and it SOUNDS hard.

i talked to fox on the phone today (^-^) and she gave me inspiration for drawing fantasy pix of all four of us. im not even attempting to draw pigeon, i wont be able to stand if it turns out wrong. ive already drawn me with cat ears and monkey with a tail (heehee) and im trying to work on penguin and fox next. fox i will make with a bushy tail and ears. penguin is stumping me. perhaps ill giver her wacky purple hair and surround her with penguins. i dont even look like me, plus i dont have that nice a body but -hey!- thats why its fantasy. although monkey is actually fairly accurate... including wishhair (ew, penguin. ew.)

i accidentally swallowed water at the pool with penguin the other day and she hiccup-laughed while i hacked.

i dont even know why i just thought of that. is fox's unique randomness rubbing off on me? heehee. i think she spent the whole conversation trying to open a package of pumpkin seeds.

perhaps i will attempt to draw all four of us together in one pic. there's an idea.

ive been practicing drawing hands and fingers. its going just ok. fox reassured me that im only beginning and i have time to learn. lets hope shes right, shall we?

ive found a great site for our animal charms! its called blue mud and it makes sterling silver charms wholesale, they're small and omg sooo cheap! they're five dollars max, free shipping and great selection! i found great cats, foxes, penguins... but no monkeys. however, ill look harder. i doubt he wants one anyway, but if he does there are lots of nice monkey charms in other places... just more expensive. anyway, here's some pix! the cat one is about four dollars, he fox too, and the penguin is 83 cents. cents!!

not really. i just wanted to say that.

yesh, this has been a decidedly mediocre day. i shall organize the events of my day (or the time since i last posted).

GOOD THINGS

1. i went to wal-mart and mom bought me a toering and nail polish (coral)
2. im talking to penguin on the phone right now and discussing color coordination
3. mom got us vanilla cones at mickey-d's (the only good thing in that place)
4. i read another chapter of harry potter 6 to mother and she laughed three times (meaning her mood is improving)
5. i love my toe ring ^-^
6. i went to the library
7. i named the adorable glitterbear penguin gave me io (it has goddess written on the front ^-^)
i swear im gonna carry that thing around all thru highschool



BAD THINGS

1. i am very sunburnt on my face and chest and it hurts
2. my shoulders hurt (i pulled a muscle)
3. my neck hurts (i pulled that muscle too)
4. my eyes burn (a mixure of chlorine and shampoo, vile combination)
5. i was savagely bitten by an unknown insect on the hand in my bed last night
6. moms mood has improved but still classifies as bad
7. i am dead tired
8.ive lost my drawing inspiration (temporarily i hope)
9.i just got off the phone with penguin because she had to do dishes (vile chore)
10. i am missing pigeon more than ever
11. i have no money and will be forced to do extra chores to get enough cash to support my back-to-school list
12.my laptops internet is messed up and i cant access some pages
13. swimming lessons suck
14. the beautiful new shade of orange glitter nailpolish my mom bought turned out so light you can barely see it (it always looks better in the bottle, doesnt it?)
15. i am thinking red lipstick will turn out disastrous
16. i just KNOW that my first conversation with pigeon will be ruined/screwed up/not even take place.


yesyes. that is the situation. 7 goods, 16 bads. prrretty pathetic. another bad thing that requires a story rather than a number right now. i was in the bathroom , washing my hands when (i will put in one of jk rowling's beloved 'argh's in right now) i mentally screamed "ARGH!" (what is WITH that? argh. its so... harsh and vulgar sounding. perhaps it is a german word. another britishism, i guess. along with trainers. trainers? what the heck are trainers? why dont you save some space and confusion and just be happy with shoes? wtf?) anyway, there was a huge black ant crawling on the counter, so i was forced to squish is with toilet paper and hear it crunch. nasty. i had previously thought it was the biggest ant i had ever seen until penguin and i saw a monster ant near the snack machine at the pool. that thing was the size of a fifty-cent piece, i swear. *shudder*

i got my cat a new brush at wal-mart (i love my cat, and yes he is black- except for seven white hairs on his chest, one on his paw and one on his head) and he loves it, except he will only rub his cheeks against it and wont let me brush the rest of him (he is semilonghaired and sheds profusely, to my mother's sheer delight).

ah, day two of month eight. the fair is coming up, when i will get up at five to wash cows, sit around at the fair with cows, show cows, and finally sell cows. ive got some kick-butt heifers this year and im hoping ill get grand champion, but that might be ambitious since its only my first year. im hoping my friends will come and see me ^-^ i think fox and penguin will, but monkey might or might not... ah well. penguin will get to see him soon enough.

i guess that will be the end of my post.

i just returned from the pool. it was supposed to be one of our circle-of-friends-get-togethers, but it ended up as just penguin and i because fox had a late night and spent all of today sleeping and monkey's parents werent home to drive him. penguin and i had a nice long chat about back-to-school, pigeon, monkey, and things we absolutely have to get before school starts. we talked aout so much and it was so much fun! i need to make a list of what we talked about so i can come back and fondly remember later.

1) BACK-TO-SCHOOL
we're both so excited about highschool! meeting everyone, finding out our schedule, our new classes. we both hope we'll get classes together, hopefully with fox and monkey, too. penguin and i will definitely have french 2 together, since so few people tend to sign up for french that there will probably only be one class (hopefully). gym we might have together (i really hope) but then again we might have them seperate semesters. fortunately in highschool you only have pe one semster and then you're done. we're both hoping for second semester, but you know, murphy's law. (i hate murphy. i wish someone would stone him, dont you?)

2) PIGEON
as you know, pigeon is my personal crush. we talked about him a lot today. i wondered whether he would still like me, and penguin says she knows he will (i am not so sure...?) fox and penguin agree that he will probably block me out during the summer and then be forced to remember that i exist come orientation. (oh, another subject i need to discuss with you all)

3) MONKEY
ah, monkey and penguin... im still smiling over it all. it is so sweet. i can just hear penguin giggle at this remark.... i am thinking about how to persuade monkey to ask her to homecoming (ah! another subject!), even if it's just as friends (you might HAVE to have a date for homecoming, so penguin tells me... that would be very bad for me). that way she could be there if i go (unlikely) and its also the perfect opportunity for things to... develop. (evil chuckle o-O)

4) THINGS WE ABSOLUTELY MUST GET BEFORE HIGHSCHOOL
i have my own personal list:

1. lipstick
-red
-another nice shade :)

2. toe rings
-silver, small

3. hoops. i MUST have hoops. i lost my best pair, and those were the ones that pigeon COMPLIMENTED (!)... oh, never mind. penguin understands.
-silver, large, round (ovals and teardrops (large ones anyway) are hideous)

4. earrrings
-silver, dangly

5.jeans (preferably armynavy, they fit me best)

6.belts
-sash/ribbon/scarf style, you know what i mean

7. a new purse
-preferably that adorable pink handbag i found...(hey, as rare as it may be, wal-mart DOES have cute cheap things.... sometimes.)

8.perfume
-i have mango in mind, but i guess anything new that i like

9.maybe a french manicure set? is that tacky?

penguin and i want to go shopping together soon so we can have each other opinions. it'll be so much fun!! now to ask mother if i can go. she is very sweet and allowing, but paranoid about me being in public areas without a parent (understandable, i guess.). i told penguin i wanted to get new lipstick shades, so she ask what color. i said, ''im thinking... red''. she widened her eyes and said, ''wow. that's bold!'' i said, yeah, i guess so, but im just curious how itll turn out. she agreed and then pointed out that there are many different shades of red, and she thinks i should go with an orange-ish color. i cant wait till we can go and try on!

5) ORIENTATION
we both agree that orientation is VERY exciting. penguin said enthusiastically that its like the first day of school without the classes. the social first day. so we both want to make fresh first impressions. i think ive decided to wear a dark green collared shirt that i got with cutoff sleeves. its very pretty, so ill pair it with jeans which will make it casual but dressy... some hoops... and perhaps lipstick? im thinking something light and not so bold as red first day... maybe ill save red til homecoming. that'll be nice... or perhaps end-of-year-dance, its definite i can go to that, i think. red is so... bold to wear everyday, even if you can pull red off (can i or can i not? :)) i think red is a good stunner. so... why blind people every day? or even just every couple of days? yes, ill wait to create a nice effect. im still planning how to talk to pigeon... hope it wont be too awkward... penguin gave me some advice, so i hope it will go well.

6) HOMECOMING
do you HAVE to go to that with a date? if you do... i doubt my parents will let me go. (my inner self wails BUT ITS HOMECOMING!!!) maybe if they let me go with a friend-date sort of thing. perhaps. anyway, that's not til october.
wait, october's my bday month... hmmm.

Today is a momentous occasion, as i explained in the previous post. today begins the 8th month of my crush on pigeon. month 8!! i have nevernever liked someone as long as 8 months.

EIGHT MONTHS!!!!

yesyes. so, hope to get shoppin' with penguin soon.
