i am writing this on a laptop!!! my dad got a new one, so i get the old one (on loan, of course) ok, here goes.

moving on. penguin has complained that i dont put enough posts on here (she should talk.)

her new post is very interesting, about many things and very long. i will follow up on her little tangent about the male population.


i am NOT considered pretty or nice or anything by anyone other than veryveryvery either nerdy or just plain weird people. zhal, for example. and scottie from 3rd grade. and alex gold (he is not weird, by the way. slightly nerdy, but sweet and very shy.)

and pigeon. pigeon likes me (whoopdeedoo).

penguin, i hear you, you are pointing out to me that fact that i make myself appear as disdainful as possible in front of most people. true. but dont point this out to me while im on a tangent. anyhoo.

yes. i am also not allowed to date, so when pigeon asked me out... i was forced to say no. most girls would say this is great, the guy you like likes you too so you go out, because he asked you to go to the dance. this is not true for me. you see, my parents have a knack for catching me if im doing something im not supposed to. and this turns out badly.

most people who like me dont even have the courage to ask me out. i hear it from a friend of theirs (at which time i make a note not to tell that person any of MY secrets) or sometimes its just plain obvious.

pigeon is sweet, funny, and considerate - almost perfect... except he gets disappointed/hurt/embarrasedafteryouturnhimdown easily. ew. now that im writing this down it sounds weird. anyway.

ohhh, penguin and monkey... so cute. penguin liking monkey? they're such polar opposites.

penguin is over today (yes!) after spending the night. right now she's still dozing but on the edge of awakening, i can tell. right now she's sleeping on top of her beloved monkey named dangles. ( i told her that it was very wrong.)

last night we watched spiderman2 and incredibles and ate smoothies. mm. they turned out really well. i was putting ice and juice together, right? and valerie said i wonder what would happen if i dropped a strawberry in it, so we dumped a container of them in. it was really good! this morning we're going to put peaches in. lots of peaches! mmmmm. and cereal and bacon and smoothies.

i tried this whole new pose for my anime characters (before you stereotype me, im TAIWANESE and not JAPANESE which are DIFFERENT. and i learned anime from an accomplished artist - fox herself, with a completely american immediate background.) because i borrowed a how-to-draw-manga book and its helping alot.

anyway, elianna is this fire mage im writing about. she hates her magic because fire destroyed her adopted family when she was little. her magic protected her from the flames when everyone else died, so she has a major phobia for fire. meanwhile, the federation (the government) took over an ancient kingdom 38 years before, and elianna is prophesized to be the one to unite the provinces into the original kingdom again. the prince of the federation wants to help her and arrives at her school, telling her of her part in the prophecy. she follows him and proceeds to take back the kingdom, region by region....

this story is not altogether a war story, (although mainly) but also... a psycological (sp?) exploration. elianna has a phobia and she has to get over it. there is a little romance, but it mostly takes place in a shy teenager-flirting kind of way. i usually keep kisses for a climax. however, for this story, there will be enough climaxes and they'll have to be united for the last one, anyway. so... ill wait until the moment is right.

ive come back from the family mountain cabin. its still being built by, namley, us, and even i have been doing some construction work. i love pheumatic tools. they allow even a kitty like me to drive three-inch spikes into solid wood in less than a second. all with the power of air. they are slightly loud, though. i HATE loud noises with a passion. (ever the cat.)

my own black cat has missed us severely this summer, weve been gone so long. he meows every time we talk to him - hes actually holding a conversation with us. i swear that i said 'hello kitty' and he answered with a loud eh-row. spooky. but them who says cats are stupid? (not me.)

speaking of stupid, or not, i got my SOL grades back today. a few misses, but over all 'advanced proficiency' in all subjects... i think the most i missed in one subject was 6 questions. i missed 5 on math, but thats never been my best subject. grammar is perfect *yay* (that is my best subject) however, my friend penguin scored a 600 (the best you can get) on her writing essay. i got a 5hundredandsomething, cant even remember, but it wasnt that good.

haha, penguin probably got '601' on her grammar section... there are also gibberish symbols where the computer failed to register the sheer number of 'advanced proficiency's and some distraut person is trying to fix an overloaded computer system. 'hmmm, now why is the fan emitting smoke?' *sprinkers fizz on* '@##$&^$@!!!!'

heh heh. dont let that cute penguin waddle fool you. there are serious brains in that head (thats why they fall over so often!) just kidding, penguin princess.


i am starting (or trying) on a new plot idea called the color of fire. its pretty sound, although the ending needs some thinking over with my writing buddy kaitlin. i work on it when im in my best writing modes, because its detailed and needs a lot of patient work, so its not coming fast.

here i am. *sigh*

im at my grandparents house and... well, im feeling depressed. think about pigeon and im highly bored of playing hearts. and spades. and rumikube. and skip-bo. and badgammon. all. day. long. well, not true. we went to a wildlife park today and i might have enjoyed it, but it was 95 degrees outside and kitty's NOT made for heat or humidity, which was 90 percent. so now im sitting typing on an even older computer than mine (mine doesnt have internet, i borrow dad's) and i have to wait 5 minutes for every word to show up. well, penguin's on vacation and hopefully having a more fun time than im having... my dad took the iriver and im missing my music intensely. not to say he stole it - its his, and saying my rca mp3 player has turned into a piece of junk is an understatement. so im extremely depressed and all the icecream in the freezer is peanut butter-related. (im severely allergic.)

ah, hp 6. one of the brighter events of my sucky day. more cheerful in my opinion than the last book... sure, the worlds position is suckier but at least harrys not screaming every page and jk's saving some ink by NOT putting all her quotes in caps. hee hee... ohmygosh, i hope good old dumbly wont die... it freaked me out when it said his hand was burnt and shriveled (shudder) early in the book... anyway, i intend on staying up all night reading it since we have to go to church tomorrow (finger jerked toward mouth) ( apologies penguin, sorry, sorry) and i can doze there anyway. or at least sit still and contemplate the sermon like im supposed to. *sorry*

this place is reeeeeeely freaky. i heard a girl scream ONCE last night *eep!*. and the bathroom. *shudder* ok. ceramic fish are on the toilet cover, they are badly hand-painted and lying on their sides with their mouths open. they look sooo dead. the clock is shaped like a TOILET SEAT. there are pinecones impaled on sticks in the living room. there are at least five animal or bird clocks around the house that never fail to create a highly creepy and unrealistic sound on the hour. i cant sleep here. i cant wait until i get home!!!


and my grandfather. he tried to teach me hearts. he explains every single complecated strategy known to man until my eyes are flashing INFORMATION OVERLOAD. SYSTEM NOW CRASHING. so he kindly explains the entire thing, including more strategies, once agian. i HATE hearts now, just because i dont kow how to play it and he cant teach me. so we finally finish a game of spades and im cooling down slowly now. so mom and i politely let them decide the next game and it comes down to my step-grandmother, alberta. she brightly suggests hearts! (knowing ill just love it ) so i got away, sat through grandpas explanation on how to run the entire computer and now im really depressed.

*sigh*

i just heard a gunshot. great.

if i survive the crime-infested -

another gunshot. a scream. oh. my. god.

as i was saying, if i survive witch is highly unlikely

more gunshots. more screams. another....

wait a second... HAHAH!!!! theyr'e fireworks and they're letting off a whistling sound! heeheehee.. *blush*

thank god im here! my grandfather's house is crazy dirty and i know id get nightmares in it! so i get to stay at my cousins' again. yay! i think were playing scene it later. thanks to jesusfreak for corresponding with me daily. oh, by the way...pigeon is my crush. its pretty significant seeing as ive liked him for a total of 7 months which is extraordinary for me. yesterday we went downtown and shopped! it was great. i love french, and i love it here because everything in english is also written in french, just like spanish in the us. i just love looking at advertisements for the kids coloring books titled "retrouver nemo!"

we went shopping today in the "chinese mall!" it was lots of fun; it seems like the #1 hangout for asians in toronto. of course, we are the majority here (were teasing uncle ken, mike, and mom for being the minority, haha) actually, white people are very scarce. of course thats kind of bad for me cuz i dont speak the language - but at least most people speak at least rudimentary english. however, today i was in a jewelry shop and a lady chattered at me in cantonese and handed me a black box, smiling widely. ??? ( i ditched the box on a shelf when she went away)

we ate japenese food today, which i pretty much dont like, so i ate almost nothing (ok; i ate shepherds pie at the black dog pub for lunch) but aimee got sick (poor girl) and gen took uncle archie's bet and ate almost all of a heaping platter of fried rice for $100 american. we left before she could finish, but she was almost there and not stopping. (makes me sick thinking about it)

i bought a really pretty pair of earrings for $15 canadian, theyre silver and pretty. guess what they are? CATS!

oops, cousins are started bootlegged batman begins so i have to go.

hi folks, having fun? i certainly am. we just had dim sum. dim sum is a type of chinese cuisine that started as a poor peoples' restaurant that used scraps and leftovers - putting each leftover dish on a small plate and serving it for a low price to peasants. now it is purely traditional (no leftovers - cooked fresh!) and is fairly hi-class, too. waiters and waitresses push several carts carrying small dishes of a food. when they come by your table, you tell them if you want it or not and/or how many plates. they will serve it to you and write what they gave you on a sheet of paper. at the end of the meal (whenever you're full) your check will be added up from what you ordered and ta-da! dim sum. it's very, very, good. my family all eats dim sum every year as a sort of tradition.

we plan to visit a waterpark soon, so i bought a new bathing suit at old navy. i mean to buy some pretty earrings at pacific mall when we go, too. strawberry-picking is perhaps an option (can u tell my family loves to eat?) and we bought a new board game, too. (trivial pursuit pop culture.)

everyone in my family is telling me that i have a katie holmes stature. ashley took a nice picture of me and him and is repeatedly calling me "katie."

martie lin, the baby of the family, is also here and just visited me (if there are any typos in this post i blame it on her and her keyboard obsession - "typing?typing?TYPING??") but she is really sweet and is at the point where she will repeat words you ask her to say. cute!
